Professional basketball's KCC loses star shooter Heo Woong to injury



After losing key forwards to injury, defending champion Busan KCC has suffered a setback with the loss of its star forward Heo Woong.

“Heo partially ruptured his knee ligament during the game against Changwon LG,” said a KCC official. He is expected to be out of action for about three weeks.”

With Song Kyo-chang and Choi Jun-yong out of action early in the season due to finger and sole injuries, respectively, KCC was left without Heo, who had been paired with Dionte Burton, leaving the forward lineup vulnerable.

With the injury, Lee is the only player in KCC's vaunted “national-level lineup” who can currently take the court.

Currently, Lee is playing well. After scoring just six points against KT, he scored 25 points against LG, leading the KCC offense alongside Burton.

With KCC having a rough start to the season, Burton's shoulders are even heavier alongside Lee Seung-hyun.

Burton exploded for 40 points and 16 rebounds in the opening game and did his part with 17 points and 10 rebounds against LG.
